Welcome to First UU Sunday School
Hello First UU Families and Welcome to the new Sunday School year!
We’re so glad to see so many of you returning and so many new families. It’s very exciting. We have just a few things to let you know about.
We will all begin together in the Worship Center, even those classes that normally don’t go into the Worship Center. Because none of our youth are routinely in worship, many people here truly believe that we have very few youth. Every time our youth show up in force, all the adults say, “Wow! I had no idea.” We will do a short ritual in worship and then leave for classes.
Parents of children from the 4th grade down: Please go with your child/children and see that they get to their classes.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
For those who know their way around the rooms, here are the classroom assignments. If it’s all just a confusing jumble, check out the large map at the Sunday School Table and pick up one of the smaller maps.

HELP GET MULTI-CULTURAL FAMILIES LAUNCHED
We have a tradition at First UU of a multi-cultural group. Many people here and young adults who are scattered across the country have fond memories of picnics and potlucks and just plain fun together. Ka Wa Berman is re-organizing the group. Please be present on Friday, September 23, 6 to 9pm for this exciting event. This is for all families. We all have our own culture.
Bring your favorite cultural dish to share. Then share your ideas and vision for this updated version of an older much-loved group. Childcare available, if needed. Please RSVP to Ka Wa Berman. ka_wa_berman@yahoo.com.
PLEASE DON’T ALLOW EITHER CHILDREN OR YOUTH TO USE THE MAIN RESTROOMS
We have both kid and adult-sized restrooms in the Religious Education wing. Please consult your map for the locations. We had a return last week of a man who has behaved inappropriately in both restrooms last spring. The police were contacted then and again last week. The man knows that if we see him on the property again, we will call the police. Alert Brian Hageman, our administrator, the DRE (Jolinda), either minister or Tim Hooks, our board chair, if you see any suspicious behavior. We will take care of it from there.
IF YOU HAVEN’T REGISTERED YET
Please do so by 6pm (I know, it’s 4 now). But I need time to add the registrations to the attendance. Those who aren’t on the attendance sheet will need to complete visitor forms and then register later. We really do need that information. Those who fill out forms for OWL or Coming of Age still need to complete regular registration too.

Here’s a thoughtful article by regular columnist for the UUWorld online, Michelle Richards. If you’re having sleepovers with adolescents, here’s some more to think about.
